The American Public Works Association (APWA) has awarded the Caribbean Drive Project with the 2020 Project of the Year Award for the Sustainable/Green Category. The Sustainability/Green Award is given to a project that demonstrates contributions to promote sustainability in public works with the efficient delivery of infrastructure in an environmentally and socially responsible way.

The City has awarded a contract to Ranger Pipelines for the Secondary Treatment and Dewatering Project Site Preparation (Site Prep) project. The purpose of the Site Prep project is to prepare the Plant for multiple upcoming and concurrent projects.

Happy holidays from the Sunnyvale Cleanwater Program (CWP)! CWP is essential to the City’s sustainability goals for clean water, wastewater and recycled water.

On November 10, 2020, EPA announces nearly $500 million for water infrastructure projects in Northern California, of which $220 million will go to help finance the Sunnyvale Cleanwater Program.

In case you missed the October Sustainable Sunnyvale, the Cleanwater Program’s Green Streets project was complete!

This summer the Sunnyvale Cleanwater Program was featured in the Horizon Newsletter to highlight the progress made on Phase 1 of construction at the City’s wastewater treatment plant.

The year is off to a great start for the Cleanwater Program. There are several milestones we are looking forward to achieving in 2020 that were featured in the February Sustainable Sunnyvale Newsletter.

We received nine contractor bids for a package that included:

• Fencing off Carl Road west of Borregas Avenue from the Bay Trail trailhead.
