Yard Piping Condition Assessment Project Completed

V&A Consulting Engineers has completed the Yard Piping Condition Assessment project at Sunnyvale’s Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP).  The areas of focus at the WPCP included the tertiary treatment area, pond effluent, fixed growth reactors, air-flotation tanks, dual media filters, digesters/sludge handling area, and Power Generation Facility. An early project activity involved a desktop data gap analysis to establish a baseline condition of the piping, data gap identification, and risk-based prioritization for the condition assessment. Over a period of several months, the V&A team then utilized various techniques and assessment technologies to obtain visual and physical data, which provided an update the initial data gap analysis and prioritized recommended replacement and rehabilitation improvements and associated costs. Results captured from the Yard Piping Condition Assessment project will be used to support future projects as part of the ongoing WPCP Master Plan Update.
