Upcoming Opportunities

Primary Effluent Pipeline Improvements

The City of Sunnyvale will be seeking services of a qualified consultant for the design of a new floating Primary Effluent Pipeline (PEP) (approximately 1,500 feet) to supplement its existing PEP at the Sunnyvale Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP). Currently, all primary effluent flows from primary sedimentation basins to oxidation ponds, and the purpose of this project is to ensure the WPCP can continue to reliably convey primary treated wastewater to the ponds, as well as accommodate any operational changes from future projects that may arise from updates to the Master Plan (currently under way).

Anticipated design services will include project management, environmental documentation, permitting assistance, geotechnical investigation, preparation of construction contract documents (plans, specifications, and opinion of probable construction cost) ready for bid, as well as engineering services during construction.  Consultants can expect the project request for proposal (RFP) to be released by the City in July 2025.
